Eco and Organic products

Health is essential for us and determines our work, development and self-fulfillment capabilities. It’s well-known that outdoor exercises, good hygiene, abandoning bad habits and, without a doubt, healthy food help us maintain good health. Perhaps everyone who decided to improve their diet asked themselves which products are the best, how to choose from the variety of the supermarket range the best products for us and how Organic products differ from BIO or ECO ones. Eco products are genuine, ecologically pure and were made in accordance with all ecological standards based on the international requirements ISO 14024. In foreign countries this group comprises only inedible goods, so everything from clothes to hotels and vehicles can be certified. A special label, confirming the voluntary certification, is put on such goods. Each country has its own marking. Here you can see some of the most well-known eco-labels:

The Nordic Swan

(Finland, Sweden,

Denmark, Norway)

The EU Eco-label Flower

(the European Union)

The Blue Angel

(Germany)

The Eco-label

(Japan)

The Green Seal

(The USA)

The Environmental Choice

(Canada)

Leaf of Life

(Russia)

The Vitality Leaf is the Russian unique marking, confirming that the given product does not contain noxious substances and was produced with minimal negative impact on the environment during primary product acquisition, packaging and transportation.

How to tell Organic products?

In order to distinguish Organic products from others you should find the Organic marking, guaranteeing the product safety and purity, on the package. Only an internationally certified product can have such a marking. There are three Organic markings accepted all over the world:

EU 834/07

(The European Union Regulation)

JAS

(The Japanese Agricultural Standard)

USDA/NOP

(The US National Organic Program)

Organic products are certified by the specialized licensed organizations, members of the International Organic Association. They operate according to the previously mentioned standards.

The Italian company ICEA, functioning in accordance with the European Union Regulation EU 834/07, conducts certification procedures in the Russian Federation.

Basic requirements:

  • loose housing for livestock

  • the use of genuine feedstuffs

  • ban on all antibiotics

  • the use of genuine fertilizers

  • ban on chemical plants and seeds protection

  • ban on genetic engineering

Therefore, every Organic product enterprise should start with the land certification. Fields and grazing lands used for livestock breeding should be the first to undergo certification, even if you’re planning to produce only milk and meat. Before starting to cultivate Organic produce the land should be farmed without agrochemicals for at least three years. Cows giving Organic milk should graze on ecologically pure fields without pesticides or other noxious chemicals able to get in milk or meat.

As a result, we can see that the secret of Organic products essentially lies in the way they were produced. Apart from the Organic marking, the package should contain information on manufacturer, the product contents as well as the logo and contacts of the certification authority.

Along with the changes in our minds grows the demand on ecologically pure products and goods. An intelligent person cannot but notice ecological disasters and the development of new diseases. The relentless use of natural resources led us to complete soil pollution and rare plants, animals and insects extinction. A global switch to Organic products and goods can have a positive impact on the future of our planet. Organic farms help restore and preserve healthy ecology.

BIO, ECO and Organic – a balanced union of nature and people. It’s the life itself.
